Dano Shen Ryu is intended to be a place where those of us who have accepted Buddhism as a way  can discuss and practice it .  Through the centuries, Buddhism has become an amalgamation of folk beliefs as well as traditional wisdom.   But Zen centers on the central principles (The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path) taught by its founder, which, are consistent  and as  valid today as they ever were. We  practice Buddhism without the cultural baggage.

We as  Buddhists  recognize all schools styles, traditions, at our center we also teach Zen dharma.  We welcome individuals  who are not  members of a Buddhist center or who do not have access to a center.  Members  practicing  any form of Buddhism are welcome.

The centers humanitarian work is independent and open to all religions. With a long history of community involvement and  volunteer programs. The Center has for many years had a program in Meditation along with other programs.  Zen sessions are on Sunday at 9 am. We hold classes in Jiu-jitsu, Asian philosophy, Meditation, & etc.

The fact that our Teacher is a recognized content expert and that our organization does so much good in the community is a plus.  We welcome any one who wishes to participate.

Dano Shen Meditation
DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE
LEVELS OF MEDITATION?

Information you need to know, how to be traditional and courteous in a Zen center  Please click here Courtesy

Most people think that sitting with their hands crossed is meditating. But if it were so simple the world would be a calm and harmonious place.  For a student to advance in meditation, he must understand that there are levels of meditation and only through the journey and the price of learning may you advance.  and it's obvious that a teacher enhances your journey and experiences, unfortunately there are few qualified teachers to give instruction.

Some of the levels are: envisionment , internal consciousness, reflection, calm environment, and quite mind. These are just a few of the lower levels for practitioners. Quite often a student only uses one or two levels. Therefore, do not be critical, study to just study and maintain an open mind.
